What if?

What if the immeasurable complexity of creation does not come out of random chaos?

What if existence can not really come from non-existent nothing?

What if the personal really did not evolve from the non-personal?

What if human qualities like will, reasoning, self-awareness, intellect,  love, meaning, purpose and the like are not merely the by-products of a chemical reactions but a part of us that transcends the physical?

What if purpose, meaning and hope are really not empty words that are meaningless, purposeless and hopeless?

What if we are more than predetermined chemical machines and personal choice is not an illusion?

What if murder, adultery, slander, theft, hatred and deception are really universally wrong?

What if love, kindness, mercy, compassion are not just personal preferences but universal good?

What if guilt is more than a self-deceived, imagined emotion?

What if we are relational beings because we came from a personal, relational Being?

What if our moral character came from a moral Being?

What if our value of love was put there by a Being of love?

What if the self-awareness of our imperfection and guilt was put their by a righteous, pure Being?

What if our sense of the eternal was given us by an eternal Being?

What if our perceived obligation to be grateful is there because there is a Being who provides blessing to our lives?

What if the historic testimony of the Bible is not fiction but what it claims to be: true?

What if God really did deliver the children of Israel of out bondage through miraculous judgments upon Egypt as the written testimony says?

What if God really did part the Red Sea for the children of Israel to pass through on foot?

What if God really did audibly speak to Moses on the mountain so that all Israel could hear?

What if God really did deliver the 10 Commandments written on stone?

What if the ancient prophetic writings really did predict the coming of Christ hundreds of years before? 

What if we really do have manuscript evidence that proves these prophecies really were written before the time of Christ and not made up after the fact?


What if a virgin really did conceive a child in the womb?

What if a multitude of angels really did appear in the heavens praising God and declaring the Savior when Jesus was born as was reported?

What if He really did walk on water, turn water in wine, raise the dead, give sight to the blind,  make the lame walk and feed multitudes with a few loaves of bread and fish?

What if he really did die on the cross for claiming to be the incarnate Son of God?

What if he really did rise from the dead after 3 days, appear to his disciples, teach then of the kingdom of heaven for 40 days then ascend to heaven before their eyes?

What if He really was telling the truth when He said He would come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and His eternal kingdom would have no end?

What if really did say that He was the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one comes to the Father except through faith in Him?

What if He were not lying when He said that only through Him would we not perish in hell?

What if His promise were true that all who believe in Him would also rise from the dead and have eternal life?

What if He were telling the truth when He said that His death was to be the only atonement for our sin?

What if blessing and curse, life and death, heaven and hell lie before us and that by choosing Christ, we choose the former and are saved from the latter?

If so, then you and I have been given a gift of immeasurable worth and whether we receive this gift or reject it has immense importance!
